Getting started

LexiCore helps you build a vocabulary that sticks. There’s no account and no sign-in — open the app and start. Add a word, look it up, then let spaced-repetition practice help you remember it.

Adding words

You can capture a word four ways:

• In the app — open the Add tab and type a word.
• Share from any app — select text anywhere, tap Share, and choose LexiCore.
• Siri Shortcut — “Capture Word.”
• Home Screen widget — tap to jump straight in.

Each word comes with definitions, pronunciation, examples, etymology, and translations across 29 languages — all available offline.

Practicing & remembering

Open the Practice tab to review. LexiCore uses modern spaced repetition (FSRS-5) to schedule each review at the best moment for recall. Choose from six modes — flashcards, choose the meaning, choose the translation, reverse recall, fill-in-the-blank, and type the word — plus standard, no-fail, and rescue sessions.

Collections, streaks & lessons

• Collections organize words into manual folders or smart, rule-based groups.
• Streaks, achievements, and a daily word keep you motivated.
• Grammar lessons (A1–C2) teach the language, not just the words.

iCloud sync

Your words sync automatically across your devices through your own private iCloud (CloudKit) when you’re signed in to iCloud. Nothing is sent to the developer. Turn sync on or off any time in Settings › iCloud Sync.

Permissions

• Microphone & Speech Recognition power pronunciation practice. Speech recognition runs on-device — your voice is never sent to a server.
