Pocket Photo Studio is built privacy-first. The developer collects no data. Your photos are processed on your device and never leave it.

The short version
- The app works entirely on your device — your photo is captured, cropped, background-replaced, and checked locally with Apple's on-device frameworks.
- Your photos are never uploaded. No image is sent to the developer or any third party.
- No account, no sign-in, no tracking — no ads, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- The app makes no network connections at all — it works fully offline. All document specifications ship inside the app.
Your photos
Photos you capture or import are processed on your device with Apple's Vision and Core Image frameworks. The finished photo is saved only where you choose — to your Photos library, or, if you turn on the optional photo history (off by default), in the app's on-device storage. Nothing is uploaded, and you can delete saved photos at any time.
Face data
Pocket Photo Studio needs to find your face in the photo so it can crop, centre, and size the image to the document's requirements and replace the background. This runs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision and Core Image frameworks.
- What is processed: on-device face detection only — the app locates the position of your face, eyes, and outline and separates you from the background to frame and check the photo. It does not perform face recognition or identification, and it does not create, store, or transmit any faceprint, face template, biometric identifier, or face embedding.
- How it is used: solely to produce and check your passport or ID photo — cropping, centring, sizing, background replacement, and the on-device compliance checklist. Nothing else.
- Storage and retention: the face is processed transiently in memory and is not retained. The developer never receives or stores it. The only thing kept is the finished photo itself, and only where you choose to keep it — in your Photos library, or in the app's optional on-device history (off by default), which you can delete at any time.
- Sharing: no face data is ever shared with the developer or any third party, and none of it leaves your device. The app makes no network connections.
Permissions
Pocket Photo Studio requests only what a feature needs, when you use it:
- Camera — to take your photo.
- Photos (Add Only) — to save your finished photo. The app never reads your photo library; importing uses the system picker, which shares only the single photo you select.
- Notifications — optional local reminders before a saved document expires, scheduled on-device. No push server is involved.
The app never requests location, contacts, microphone, or any tracking permission.
